Cohort is a social app built for college students — a place to stay connected with the people you already know, meet new people on your campus, and find groups worth joining, from clubs and orgs to spontaneous get-togethers.
Yes — always free for students. There's no subscription, no premium tier, and nothing to pay to use any part of the app.

Every campus at once — there's no phased or single-campus rollout. Cohort checks sign-ups against a database of 1,118 U.S. colleges and universities, and it grows as we hear from more schools.

Sign-up asks you to pick your school from a list, then checks that your email's domain actually matches that school's real domain (e.g. @ksu.edu for Kansas State). No verification, no account — this is what keeps Cohort feeling like your actual campus instead of the open internet.
Yes — you need to be at least 17. Your birthdate is only used to confirm this and is never shown on your profile or to anyone else.
You control it. A public account means anyone verified on Cohort can see your posts; a private account limits it to people you've approved as followers. You can switch this in Settings at any time.

Yes, any time, from Settings inside the app. It's self-service and permanent — your profile, posts, group memberships, and messages are all removed.
A group is permanent — yours to keep, organize, and grow. Merging temporarily combines two or more groups into one shared space with its own chat and events, for a set amount of time, with no pressure to make it permanent. More in Groups and Merging.
Events are attached directly to the group they came from, so everyone already knows who's going. See Events for more.
A simple map of the groups and events happening around your campus. It's an intentionally simple first version — see Find for more.
Direct messages, group chats, and merged-group chats are only visible to the people in that conversation. More in Messages.
Yes — sponsored feed posts and map pins are available to local businesses, starting at $75 for 30 days. See Advertise for details and pricing.
